Campaigns for Change
The Parents' Jury is ‘your voice on food and activity'. We regularly run advocacy campaigns around children's food and physical activity issues, represent our members' collective voice in the media, and lobby governments, food manufacturers and key decision makers for improvements.
Members provide their views by responding to opinion polls, contributing to the online discussion forum, writing on our facebook page, following us on twitter, giving email feedback and acting as spokespeople in the community.
Proactive advocacy:
Throughout the year we run planned campaigns that often include opinion polls, media activity, article distribution, letter writing and lobbying of key decision makers.
The Parents' Jury also wants to help you Use Your Voice. We have put together a series of tools, tips for helping create change, letter templates and articles for your school newsletter. When issues arise that you tell us you want to take action on, we will also work to provide an online resource kit of information, advocacy suggestions and web links to empower you to become champions.
Reactive advocacy:
We regularly respond to current issues in the media and political sphere that relate to children's food and physical activity environments and obesity prevention. On your behalf, The Parents' Jury provides comment, issues media statements, writes letters and lobbies decision makers.
